Module Overview
Throughout this course, you have studied many essential components of English grammar, including parts of speech, verb tenses, modal verbs, clauses, conditionals, sentence transformations, and grammatical accuracy. Each of these systems was presented and practised individually in order to build a strong and systematic understanding of English grammar.
In real communication, however, grammar does not operate in isolation. When people speak or write, multiple grammatical structures function together within the same sentence. Clauses combine with verb structures, connectors express relationships between ideas, and sentence patterns interact to convey precise meaning.
Module 14 – Integrated Grammar Mastery brings together the knowledge you have developed throughout this course. Instead of studying grammar as separate topics, this module focuses on analysing, correcting, and transforming sentences that contain multiple grammatical structures at the same time.
In this module, you will learn how to analyse complex sentences by identifying phrases, clauses, verb structures, and logical relationships. You will also practise recognising and correcting sentences that contain multiple grammar errors involving tense, agreement, clauses, and conditionals. In addition, you will develop the ability to transform sentences using different grammatical patterns while maintaining the original meaning.
By integrating the grammar systems studied throughout the course, learners develop a deeper understanding of how English grammar functions in authentic communication.
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
-
analyse complex sentences containing multiple grammatical structures
-
identify phrases, clauses, and grammatical relationships within sentences
-
recognise how different grammar systems interact within a sentence
-
identify and correct sentences containing multiple grammar errors
-
transform sentences using different grammatical structures while maintaining meaning
-
apply integrated grammar knowledge in advanced sentence analysis and writing
This module represents the culmination of the English Grammar Mastery course, allowing learners to apply the full range of grammar knowledge developed throughout the programme.
Lessons in This Module
Lesson 1️⃣ Comprehensive Sentence Analysis
In this lesson, learners analyse complete sentences and identify the grammatical structures they contain. Students practise recognising phrases, clauses, verb structures, and the relationships between different parts of a sentence.
Example:
Sentence:
The scientist who analysed the data concluded that the experiment had failed.
Students identify:
| Element | Example |
|---|---|
| relative clause | who analysed the data |
| main clause | The scientist concluded |
| noun clause | that the experiment had failed |
| tense | past perfect – had failed |
This lesson strengthens learners’ ability to recognise how multiple grammar systems operate together within a single sentence.
Lesson 2️⃣ Integrated Grammar Correction
This lesson focuses on identifying and correcting sentences that contain multiple grammar errors. Students learn to recognise errors involving verb tense, conditional structures, subject–verb agreement, and clause relationships.
Example:
Incorrect:
If the system will fail, the technicians repaired it.
Correct:
If the system fails, the technicians will repair it.
Through these exercises, learners develop the ability to analyse sentences critically and apply grammar rules accurately.
Lesson 3️⃣ Advanced Sentence Transformation
In this lesson, learners practise transforming sentences using different grammatical structures while maintaining the original meaning. This helps students develop flexibility in sentence construction and improve their writing style.
Example:
Original:
The experiment was difficult, but the results were valuable.
Transformation:
Although the experiment was difficult, the results were valuable.
This lesson integrates knowledge of conjunctions, clause structures, and sentence relationships.
Lesson 4️⃣ Final Grammar Mastery Test
The final lesson provides a comprehensive assessment covering the grammar systems studied throughout the course. Students apply their knowledge to analyse, interpret, and evaluate sentence structures.
The test includes several types of questions, such as:
✔ identifying the correct sentence
✔ identifying grammatical errors
✔ identifying sentence structures
All questions are presented in a multiple-choice format suitable for online learning platforms and grammar assessment.
