A. Affirmative
Subject + base verb
Add -s/-es for third person singular
Examples:
The Earth revolves around the Sun.
Scientists analyze data carefully.
She studies physics.
B. Negative
Subject + do/does + not + base verb
She does not study biology.
They do not agree.
C. Questions
Do/Does + subject + base verb?
Does she study biology?
Do scientists publish regularly?

A. Universal Facts
Water boils at 100°C.
The Pacific Ocean covers a vast area.
B. Scientific Truths
The Moon orbits the Earth.
C. Habits and Repeated Actions
She studies every evening.
They exercise regularly.
D. Schedules and Timetables
The train leaves at 8 AM.
The conference begins tomorrow.
E. Permanent Situations
She lives in Canada.
The Amazon flows through Brazil.
F. State Verbs (Non-Continuous Verbs)
State verbs do not normally appear in continuous form.
Examples: know, believe, like, love, understand, belong
She knows the answer.
The book belongs to the library.
Not:
She is knowing the answer. ❌

This signals habitual use.
5. Spelling Rules for -s Form
Add -s normally:
study → studies
work → works
Add -es after:
go → goes
watch → watches
fix → fixes
Change y → ies (if consonant before y):
study → studies

Present Simple vs Present Continuous
She works in London. (permanent job)
She is working in London. (temporary situation)
