Canadian Citizenship Test Preparation Guide
About Course
Your Canadian citizenship is closer than you think.
You have already done something extraordinary. You left the familiar, built a new life in a new country, learned the language, navigated the systems, and worked hard — year after year — to make Canada your home. And now, here you are: one test away from making it official.
The Canadian citizenship knowledge test is not a barrier. It is an invitation — a chance to show that you know the country you have chosen to call home. And after living in Canada, you probably already know more than you think.
This course is designed to take what you already know, fill in the gaps, and sharpen everything into the confident, precise knowledge you need to pass on your first attempt.
Why Canadian citizenship is worth every bit of effort
Getting your citizenship is one of the most powerful steps you can take in Canada. As a citizen, you can vote in every election and have your voice heard. You will carry one of the world’s most powerful passports — giving you access to over 180 countries. Most importantly, citizenship means permanent belonging. No renewals, no conditions — Canada becomes yours completely and officially, forever. Your citizenship also passes to your children, securing their future alongside yours.
What this course covers
This course is built entirely from Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship — the official Government of Canada publication that the citizenship test is based on. Every lesson, every quiz question, and every key fact is exam-valid content. Nothing is guessed. Nothing is missing.
The course includes 5 complete modules covering every topic on the real test, 15 in-depth lessons, over 375 practice questions with full explanations, and 3 full timed mock exams in real test format. By the time you finish, you will have practised the real test three times before you ever walk into the exam room.
What makes this course different
Every lesson ends with a Key Facts box highlighting exactly what to memorize. Orange highlight boxes throughout the lessons flag the most commonly confused facts — the ones that trip people up on the real test. Every wrong answer in the quizzes comes with a full explanation so you understand not just what the right answer is, but why.
The five modules follow the exact structure of Discover Canada: the history of Canada, government and democracy, rights and responsibilities, Canadian identity and symbols, and geography and the economy. Each module has three quiz sets — direct recall, applied scenarios, and challenge level — so you are prepared for every type of question the real test might throw at you.
Who this course is for
This course is for anyone preparing for the Canadian citizenship knowledge test — whether you are sitting it for the first time, preparing to try again after a previous attempt, or helping a family member get ready. It is also for anyone who wants to build a genuine understanding of Canada, not just memorize answers.
You do not need any prior knowledge of Canadian history or government. The course starts from the beginning and builds everything you need, step by step, in plain, clear language.
A note on the real test
The real citizenship test has 20 multiple-choice questions. You have 30 minutes. The pass mark is 75% — meaning you need to answer at least 15 out of 20 questions correctly. Applicants aged 18 to 54 must take the written test. This course prepares you for exactly that.
You did not come this far to stop short.
You have built a life in Canada. Now it is time to make it completely, officially, and permanently yours. Work through the modules, take the quizzes seriously, complete all three mock exams — and walk into your test knowing you are ready.
Your citizenship is waiting. Let’s go get it. 🍁
